Chambers UK, a leading guide to law firms and solicitors in the United Kingdom, has ranked Thompsons NI as Band 1 in relation to their personal injury and employment rights work.

Chambers UK records that Thompsons NI is held in high esteem for its “deep expertise in workplace injury claims, drawing on a wealth of experience in asbestos-related cases.” Managing Partner, Oonagh McClure, provides "excellent support and advice" in representing trade unions and private clients in such work.

Thompsons NI Employment Rights Unit is described as “Dominant in trade union work, the team houses deep knowledge and experience handling disputes” offering “expert advice” and training on the growing discrepancies between Northern Irish and English law for groups operating across jurisdictions. George Kilpatrick is referenced as being "a really technically excellent lawyer."

Commenting on the achieved rankings, Oonagh McClure, at Thompsons NI, said:

“We are delighted to receive this recognition from Chambers UK. Thompsons NI is driven by a vision to protect and deliver justice for working and we have been doing so for over 40 years. We care a great deal about the people we represent and strive to ensure we achieve the best outcome for clients. Our commitment to working people is demonstrated by the fact that we only ever represent the injured or mistreated person, and never the people, organisations or insurance companies liable for paying out for those injuries.

“Our work for trade unions and their members has driven our specialism in workplace accidents, disease claims (with lawyers also accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as well as delivering expertise on employment rights issues all of which see us retain high levels of client satisfaction.

“Our involvement with charitable organisations such as Headway - the brain injury support group - and Spinal Injuries Association (SIA), has increased our understanding of the devastating effects a serious injury can have on a person.
